What Are Boom Pumps?

A boom pump has a remote-controlled robotic arm and is attached to a truck or a semi-trailer. The arm can accurately place large volumes of concrete. During the pour, the truck remains in one place while ready-mix trucks unload concrete into the pump's hopper.

The hopper has an auger to churn the concrete and keep it liquid. It also has a mesh grate to keep out large rocks and chunks that may clog the pump.  Keeping the truck in a central location on the job site will allow traffic to flow more efficiently and smoothly.
